I want everyone to know about the situation in Iraq in all its REALITY, tribes, different powers in Iraq right now, the US's goal for Iraq, the Iranian, Saudi, and Syrian interests in Iraq currently, Al Qaeda's goals for Iraq, the Sunni vs. Shiite vs. Kurd conflict past and present, the major mistruths (maybe, maybe not direct lies) that have been stated by Bush administration to get us into Iraq, why each country is in Iraq right now, the cost of the US leaving Iraq (what would happen to the Iraqi people, what would happen to US interests in the region), etc.

There is so much people should learn about this. I believe that each country's population that has troops in Iraq should be tought this as being mandatory and the people, WE THE PEOPLE ONLY AFTER LEARNING ALL OF THIS, should vote on whether to stay in Iraq or whether not to.

George B, the TV does tell the truth in the way they see things. There is always some bias. What we need to do is to present ALL sides of the situation

witwwats, I have educated myself on this issue, and I am trying to learn about this issue from all sides, although it is kind of hard to do. Did you know that Iran Syria, and Saudi Arabia have national security interests in dealing with Iraq? Did you know that Syria has taken in almost 2 million Iraqis?

Camp outside Nancy Pelosis house, er, nobody pays attention to those people. Try camping outside George Bush's house in Crawford Texas. You could try asking Cindy Sheehan how to get some attention from the Media maybe she can kick you down a little media time.
As far as changing the procedures for deciding whether or not we stay at war, become a politician if you haven't already. Not much chance of bringing any change to things without.

myspace and youtube are great tools for gathering people's attention.. if you are truly dedicated to wanting people to know about whats going on, present them with the information. people are busy with their own lives, they dont have time to be researching all of this regardless of whether they care or not, but most people do care. if i were you, i'd create a myspace dedicated to information on the war as well as including 2008 presidential candidates, links to webpages that give information on the candidates so that YOU know you helped people give a proper educated vote when the time comes next year.
ONLY fill your page with FACTS, if you have an opinion make it a point to say its your opinion or say, "it is believed" because many people will turn their back if they feel they are being lied to. what you want to do is gain trust. put videos you can find on it as well.. and ask people for their input on your myspace. when your done creating your page, friend request a whole lot of people or ask people to check out your webpage, create a banner on your page with a code so people can help spread the word.

I think you should post a video on it on you tube or like submit it to TV. My cousin was in Irag for 3 years so I know how seious this matter is and I will do anything to have it be heard. I will help you no matter what. So good luck you try and so will I! good luck!

Part of me wonders if this should be a sociology or psychology question! lol Really, the only way to get people to learn about anything is to tie that learning to something dear to them. Few people have an interest in anything that is outside of their immediate sphere of influence. Dale Carnegie noted that the boil on ones neck is infinitely more important than a thousand earthquakes in Asia (or words to that effect, in "How to Win Friends and Influence People"). People have to be sure that something directly and immediately affects them, or it will fall behind such interests as television programs and the World Series.

People will take the time to learn something only if it directly affects them personally. Otherwise, whether their favorite baseball team wins is more important, hence the reason many know so much about this than about Iraq (many can't even find it on a map).

To know the whole truth would require having top security clearance in several countries, and inside intel on various tribal groups and terrorist organizations, plus the ability to read a few minds. No one on the face of the Earth can claim that. For now, I think we need to just stick by the Constitution, and let our system of government run its course. We elect leaders, which gives them the power to make decisions (whether we agree or not).

2 problems.

1.) It's the President's decsion alone. Authority from the Constitution. We're staying as long as he wants troops there.

2.) Your assumption that you have ALL of the facts was seriously damaged when you quoted some of the urban legends that are being thrown around.

How about - you educate yourself first?

That means, you have to LOOK for the other side of the argument.

"Everybody says. . ." doesn't work when everybody wants his job.

Over throw Osama, become the leader of the Facist Muslums and then maybe the world will listen, but you'll have to do a better job than Your predecessors and pull Yourself out of the dismal hole they left You in.

Make a video of what you want to say, put it on youtube, ask a question of people to send it people, including asking them to forward it to others if necessary so everyone in the world would watch it.
