Methane usually comes from rotting organic matter that is being composted. A lot of landfills are now putting pipes down into the rotting area to capture that methane as a fuel.

methane is the primary animal poo and rotting orangic matter yield. methane is approximately the same as natural gas we use heat our homes. it burns good.
