Probably, this is just another thing that we are all going to have to deal with in this time of increasing uncertainty.

Well, I suppose we should be just as "scared" as we were of the influx of Japanese cars in the late 70's and early 80's. This DID hurt Detroit, but it also made US automakers become better and more efficient. And, we now have more choices when it comes to quality vehicles. If we really believe in markets and capitalism, we should never be 'scared"- we should be ready to compete.

"CAPITALIST" China is busy buying controlling interest in the entire US and that is something to be very concerned about. By using the imbalance in the trade between the 2 countries and buying corporate shares on the open market they will bring about the demise of the American empire much sooner than even the neo-cons had anticipated. BE AFRAID-BE VERY AFRAID. (I think you will find this whole business with Iran is just a smoke screen for what is really happening.)

No, but I don't see how they would be as good of quality as the ones made by the Japanese. The UAW must be thrilled. I am scared that the money the Chinese make from selling to us will be used to upgrade their military to the point they feel they could take us on invading Taiwan.

Communist in power only. They are more of a police state that allows capitalism as long as it doesn't go against the government.

But no, why be scared? If anything, it'll make the US car companies better, and it already has.

Scared of What? That they might take a slice of the Japanese and Korean market. US auto manufacturers are already in trouble due to the success of other countries outdoing them on our own soil.

scared, no. Like the toys they send to the USA, I'm wondering if they will have small parts that children can choke on, or lead based paint that will require a recall!

It didn't scare me when Japan sent their cars to the US. I never bought any foreign cars and won't start at this late stage of life. Who's going to sell them, Walmart?

Be scared when there are no other cars to buy. Until then, everything is cool
