How to dress for fall/winter?? I have a lot of clothes but the styles don't seem to go together. Am I missing some "basic" pieces that would help me match my clothes better?
I love the hip New Yorker, hi-lo style that they show in Lucky magazine, but when I try to mix & match diff. looks they never seem to go together.
I have one pair of jeans and lots of "trouser" style pants. Most of my shoes are dressy heels or dark ankle boots but my tops are casual. My fall skirts (wool knee length) hardly seem to go with anything! I have some boho & some preppy, "J crew" style pieces.
It is hard to mix and match the casual pieces with the dressier pieces.
Can you help?? What I'm asking is
1. What are VERSATILE pieces that are easiest to mix & match? For example, is there ONE style of skirt that I need to have in my wardrobe?
2. Are there any good guidelines for what to wear with what?
3. What are the rules about what shoes look good with which types of skirts/pant
