Whats the best way to determine the price of a crochet or knitted item that you hand made?

I'm selling the items I knit and crochet. I'm just not sure selling them for the right price or not. Serious answer please.

I add the price of the yarn/supplies and add 10%. I also add my time per hour.

for example, my crochet baby hats take half hour to make plus less than one skien of yarn. My hats costs about 2 dollars to make than I add 4 dollars for a half hour of time

It depends. If you're using someone else's pattern and yarn from the craft store, you really can only charge the cost of your materials. But if it's your own design and some special yarns, you should at least triple the cost of your supplies, plus $10.00 an hour for your time. If your designs are unique and desirable, you can add another premium for design skill, whatever the market will bear.

Usually one takes the price of materials and adds the hours of manufacturing. You need to determine how much you time is worth.
