how long is 5 km/hr for 15 minutes?

5km x1/4=1.25 km

scince 15 minutes is one forth of an hour, simply multiply 5 by 1/4...
you get 5/4 kilometers

60min<--->5 km
15 min<---> (15/60) x 5 km = (1/4) x 5 km = 1¼ km

In 15 min. the dist. travelled = (15 x 5) / 60

=5x15/60
=1.25
