I think it just depends on how much you're into the girl and what she likes. On my first date with my bf we went out to eat and the movies and it was fun. Now we do it all the time.It's just the first date, you can get into more crazy stuff in the other dates.

Dinner sounds wonderful... movies, i could wait. Movies; he would want to hold hands and cuddle and i am not ready for that on a FIRST date

No movies for a first date. You just sit there in silence. Movies are for couples after they are bored talking to each other.

and it's a nice way to talk & get to know one another..

Something more fun and Romantic...for example visiting ,if you have one in your city,"The top of the Hub"...a place over looking the major city(ies) which depict the night lights,the moon and the stars.

id rather go to a pier for an outdoor concert and dancing. the movies you cant talk and really dont get over the awkward first date.
