ALL of Africa sits back and does nothing about Zimbabwe and Mugabe.
So if they are not prepared to do anything about that dictator, he`ll be there for a long time yet.
I just hope the UK & USA keep out. Let the French, Germans, Italians or Russians have a go.
The whole of the African people are not bothered to do anything......combined they could crush Mugabe......so why DON`T they?

Like the first poster said I'd ask the people of Zimbabwe. Imperialism is not a good thing but sadly it seems the people of Zimbabwe were better off under it. Stories of people starving to death and children dying are all over the news and are upsetting and depressing. Hopefully they can one day find a better leader than the deranged Mugabe.

I think Economically and politically the country would be more stable under foreign rule but the fact is they don't like white people or foreign rulers.
The anti-imperialists will just find a way to blame the current mess on the disbanded empire.

Would Americans like being ruled by the British crown?
Would Americans be better off as British citizens?

I think it's great that you can spell Zimbabwe and that you know a historical funfact about the place, but really? Bad question.

Yeah, from one of the most prosperous, most agriculturally productive countries in sub-Saharan Africa (net food exporter) to a country where people are starving to death for lack of agricultural products or the money to import food. Now that's progress! Independence is very important to Zimbabwe.

I doubt that any of the people are happy with the situation in Zimbabwe, but don't see that imperialism or anti-imperialism has much to do with it.

Surely its a democratic state, with the government elected by the people?

Wonder they don't all up and leave. Robert might find he doesn't have anyone left to govern.

I don't know anyone who's happy with Zimbabwe except Robert Mugabe.

His people are starving to death and he's living it up

His actions are causing other countries to apply sanctions - but unfortunately it's the grass roots people who get hit by these sanctions - and aid doesn't get through as it's intercepted by his armies.
