I would love to be able to go see stalagmites and other natural rock formations in FL. However everything I find online is about diving in them.

Is there a difference between a cavern and a cave? I am thinking of things like Carlsbad Caverns and Lost Sea, TN.

I know there is a state park in NW FL that has this - but it is quite a bit of a drive. Are there others?

Thank you!

Other than being certified to dive in caves, scuba, your only bet is to visit Florida Caverns State Park out of Marianna, Florida.

In all my years in Florida, 1942 to present, this is the only one I've heard about.

There are many caves to dive in where you will see the same formations as you will see at Carlsbad, Mamouth and Florida Caverns. Only a select few are allowed to dive in these caves. The fatality rate is rather high for beginners.

The above sites are for you enjoyment. The first three are about Floridas only dry cave and the last is about the wet caves.

Enjoy
