Do you think superman was overly confident...?

This is a good question. Part of Superman's appeal is that he had superpowers and did not need that cup.

Personally, I prefer Batman, who did not have any superpowers and had to learn and go to the gym like the rest of us.

Yes, I think he was overly confident just like all the macho kind of men!!
