I had to diet because of cholesterol. have not had a problem sticking to it. brought it down 53 points and lost over 30 lbs. I have 6 grandkids that need me and a lot of willpower to live.

I have been on and off more diets than I care to remember. I was never extremely heavy, but always chubby starting in Jr High. I never could stay on them long and then I'd gain the weight back. You just can't 'diet' forever, that's what makes you give up. When I stopped dieting and changed the way I eat I did much better.
For me it works best if I eat several small meals a day. I'll be hungry in a few hrs no matter how much I eat at a time anyway. Another thing is no food is off limits (except those I'm allergic to, which are unfortunately some of my favorites), I just eat them in much smaller amounts. Find foods-like oatmeal you can eat to help with cholesterol, exercise, look up other ways to reduce it besides just with what you eat. I use homeopathic meds for some of the medical problems I have, but that's just me.
I've gotten out of exercising this summer and have just started back, but I'm still doing well with the frequent meals and small portions. Hang in there and if you slip, just start again. You can do it!

I have in the past, but no more. I had to be diagnosed diabetic
to really stop & realize, it is important for a good life that I make a lifetime change. So no more diets, just eating right for
the rest of my life. I have gone from 147 lbs to 122lbs. Everyone kept telling me you are not too heavy. Well, I was. I just didn't want to change. I feel so much better now. Other health problems that I had are no more. I love food, but I don't
eat desserts very often. Occassionally I will take a few bites. I can do this and so can you. This time don't give up. Good health is worth eating right.

Yes many times. With me I lose track of the ultimate goal I suppose, with all the crap going on in life, it tends to get little over whelming at times.
I am also an emotional eater. I see food as a reward for putting up with all the crap.
Sooo its all a vicious circle at times!!!
