Roughly 46,000 miles. New Battery 10-06. Something odd is going on. No real problems starting when it's cold. After driving a while and getting back in to start...you can tell it doesn't crank as well as it did. At one point today...after multiple stops, I came home, turned off the car and immediately tried to turn it back on. It would not fire, it got the the point it would not crank. 5 minutes later...absolutely no problem. It fired multiple times... What do you think the problem is. My guess is it's just time for a tune up and new spark plugs.....what's your thoughts?

starter windings bad. replace starter. windings expand when hot and loose their connection if worn out

Not starter, not timing belt. I would get the alternator tested but first I would remove the battery terminals, get a battery brush at auto store, clean the terminals and posts till they shine. Most battery connections don't get cleaned when battery installed.
