The more research that is done on marijuana the more it looks like it is as bad as or worse than alcohol.
As is the case with all drugs, they are poisonous to some degree. That is why the give you a buzz. That is also why most medicinal drugs work.
So we should always be careful about what drugs we use.

I think marijuana is worse--only because most people are so niave and dissagree! I just did a paper on keeping marijuana illegal --heres some things I pulled from my paper:
According to Results from the 2005 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug among adolescents. Teens who begin Marijuana use at an early age when the brain is still developing may be more vulnerable to neuropsychological deficits, especially verbal abilities. Within the past year, the Preliminary Data on Drug Use & Related Matters Among Adult Arrestees & Juvenile Detainees has found out that the use of Marijuana can produce adverse physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral changes. Also, most people disagree, but Marijuana actually is an addictive drug. Marijuana smoke, like cigarette smoke, can harm the lungs. The use of Marijuana can impair short-term memory, verbal skills, and judgment and distort perception. It also may weaken the immune system and possibly increase a user's likelihood of developing cancer.
However, the Institution of Medicine (IOM) recently found that there was no scientific evidence that smoked Marijuana had medical value, even for the chronically ill, and concluded that, "There is little future in smoked Marijuana as a medically approved medication.” Still, researchers have not found scientific proof that smoked Marijuana is medicine. There are other medications, such as “Marinol” that provides a safe capsule form of synthetic THC that meets the standard of accepted medicine and has the same properties as cultivated Marijuana without the high. This real medicine is for the treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy and for the treatment of wasting syndrome in AIDS patients. A study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, found that a moderate dose of Marijuana alone was shown to impair driving performance; however, the effects of even a low dose of Marijuana combined with alcohol were markedly greater than for either drug alone.

Yes, alcohol can impair someone to violence, and they can asphyxiate. People need to learn how much they can take. It's actually chemistry when it comes to how easily drunk you can get, not how "man" you are. It depends on pH levels.
Marijuana is not bad for you at all. The education on pot is so deceptive it's unreal. Do they ever tell you in school that marijuana was originally banned due to racism in New Orleans? No. As with anything, moderation is the best policy, but you can get tar if you use it a lot. You cannot get cancer. It's never been proven. No one dies from pot use. There is NO such thing as a physical dependence on it. Your body actually has cannabinoid receptors in your brain!
The Founding Fathers of the U.S. smoked pot. Neither is bad when used in moderation. Both can be bad if used excessively.

The health impact of any drug depends on how it's used, who's using it, how much is used, and under what circumstances. Marijuana and alcohol are no exception, so comparing them directly is difficult – each possesses the potential for unique risks or benefits.
Both substances are very bad for your health and should not be heavily used by anyone.
Being drunk or high compromises sound judgment and may lead to unhealthy or risky decisions that you wouldn't make when sober

Alcohol used socially has been shown to be beneficial, excessive use of course creates health and social issues. Alcohol is known as being the insidious slow killer similar to cigarettes. The negative side-effects take years to develop.
Marijuana on the other hand is no longer the 'weed' that grew out in nature all nice and natural. It is now a mixture of hybrid, chemically fed plants and because of this its effects on the human brain can be life changing and debilitating with just a small amount of use. The younger the person starts using the more Mental Health problems it creates.
Schizophrenia, paranoia, being only two of the range of problems. It has now been shown that males in their mid-thirties are developing major depression that is leaving them unable to function normally. Loss of jobs, marriages etc.
I see the effects of both in my line of work and the person affected by marijuana is living with Mental Health issues that they will have for life.
Those affected by alcohol usually recognise they have an addiction that can cause major health issues later in life. Alcohol is not as immediate as smoking marijuana is.

No. Then each and all the wine fans would be indignant. Even Neil deGrasse Tyson haz his own wine sequence. Why might you ban that? yet in any different case I do want if human beings take gentle drugs quite than alcohol that's much greater risky than heroin and cocaine. Many examine shop showing that ethanol makes a much better financial and illness than addictive drugs. Weed can purely reason lung harm and acute psychosis (from smoking severe-THC weed) and that's it. no longer something to hardship approximately different than holes in lungs.

Alcohol is much worse than marijuana. It's legal, so more people have access to it. It is a real life taker. Some people can handle it in moderation, but some people get addicted and it just tears the body apart for those people, and destroys their life and the lives of their loved ones.
That is not an endorsement for pot. I have seen people die from using that junk too. (car crashes, cancer, etc.)

Yes. Have you ever seen anyone get into a bar fight or attack other people when under the influence of marijuana? The worst that would happen is the stoner would steal your Ring Dings. I would rather be around stoners than heavy drinkers every time. Besides, people can still hold insightful conversations while they are smoking pot. Conversation with someone who has been drinking tends to go round and round stupidly like a hamster on a wheel.
Besides, alcohol kills, either immediately or due to long-term organ failure and no one has EVER overdosed on pot.

marijuana is much better. they both are bad phsically, alcohol hurts your liver and smoking hurts your lungs/throat. However, alcohol can make you depressed if you use it alot. If you smoke alot, all that will happen is that you will become slightly dumber (i'd rather be a dumbass then depressed). Also, think mentally. On alcohol all you do is party and get into a euphoric state. while smoking, you become introspective. you think about religion, your loved ones, and your life. It can also treat depression. Think about the depressed drunkard at the bar. no matter how much he drinks he is still depressed. but you never find a sad person whose high. Plus, DUI deaths are at all time highs. you are not a good driver when high but you are much better and less reckless while high.
