The judge issuing the order can hold them in contempt of court and fine them or give them jail time. Alternatively, they could be given some other type of sanction (punishment). For example, the judge could order that they cannot introduce any evidence at trial, or something like that.

the judge will issue another subpoena for the defendant/complainant to explain why he should not be charged contempt in court. usually he was given 15 days to answer that. failure to do so, the judge will now issue an arrest warrant and send the defendant/complanaint to jail.
