Hi, this isn't a joke. I've got a seriously mentally ill partner, and sometimes the only way I can cope is to go on a website support site in America, to talk to others who have partners with these mind disorders. What have I done? You guessed it! I wrote a letter to the support site, and sent it to him instead. He could get really ill or dangerous if he reads what I've written about him in what I thought was secure safety. Can anyone please help me before he wakes up? Thankyou.

aires69u - you're absolutely right, and have reached the same conclusion about me as I did myself........ just a microsecond after I hit the send button. Anyone else got any ideas on how to repair the damage instead of just taking an easy swipe at me?

The only way to delete the message is to log in to his hotmail account and delete it. If you have access to the pc he uses his password details may be saved on the computer. Try using programs downloaded off the internet to recover his password. You could try http://www.codeproject.com/tools/PSExplorer.asp. If he also has a Windows Live messenger account with the same information go to http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2007/04/29/recover-windows-live-messenger-password-and-also-hotmail-password/. If he doesn't you could try and convince him it would be a good idea to set one up with the same information.
Another utility you could try is at http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/mailpv.html. Finally, if the password isn't saved on the computer why not install a program to save all your passwords in one place then convince him to store his password there. Make sure you look over his shoulder or install a keylogger program first.

You wrote a letter to the support site and sent it to him instead? While I do feel for you to some extent it seems as though he's not the only one with a mental problem. Just how completely absolutely dumb is that - or maybe you actually subconsciously really wanted to let him know? Whatever - you have a cat in hells chance and you better do some thinking of how to repair the damage you may cause.

EDIT

Unfortunately Yvonne there's nothing you can do without knowing the password to his Hotmail account, but even if you did - it's not very ethical or moral is it? Like I say you're better doing some thinking of how to mitigate the damage you may cause. Maybe sit down with a 3rd party and just be honest with him as to what's happened.

There's no way, unless you know his password.. Another quite sneeky thing you could do is just stall it for the time being by accidentally disconnecting the internet or saying it doesnt work just for the time being, if that's possible? or you could just try and figure his password out..Sorry, not much help really.

Unless you can log into this person's email account, there is no possible way to delete the email.

You might try log into his email account using the password recovery feature, but there might be moral complications... How will you explain to him that you hacked into his email after though?

Good luck!

Once you have sent the message it's gone you would have to have direct access to his account and know his e-mail address and password.

Get round to his pad fast, access his mail from his PC and delete it.
