why do some people still pick at the grammer and say mean things?

Could be a variety of reasons why. However, since I want 10 points and not just 2, I'll elaborate. LOL
Picking at grammar
They could be control freaks, wanting everyone to be their idea of perfect. Could also be the way they were raised. They could be in a foul mood and if they are hen pecked, they could be worse, in a fowl mood. lol
Say mean things.
Could be in a bad mood. Maybe someone said something mean to them and they could not take it out on the person who did it, like a boss, parent, spouse, etc for whatever reason. Or maybe they are just a bad person.
The bad people help us really appreciate the good ones when we meet them. So let us silently thank the a.s.s.h.o.l.e.s. around us for helping us really like the nice ones. Without meeting bad people, we would not know how god we actually have it.

Good question- I overlook any bad grammar, and if you read my profile, one of the things I hate the most are those who are mean to others on this site. All the asker is doing is reaching out for help, not for grammar corrections. I guess the only way I can answer this question is "because they can"- and, again, it is not right of them, in fact, it is rude of the pitiful fools that do this to others. I enjoy this site, and try not to judge others. I do get upset with those who are mean to others. Again, good question, and it deserves a star. Have a good day and take care!

I think some folks just need to put others down to make themselves feel better and It seems to me that the nit-pickers and meanies don't like to see others have fun. I've finally gotten over the thumbs down trolls maybe I can do the same the grammar Nazis but I will never understand (don't care to understand) the meanies.

Frankly speaking honey, there're lots of insensible users who thinks that they are right and likes to say mean things to others, but can't take mean things themselves though.

It is a bit annoying when you can't tell what the person is saying because their writing is so bad. but other then that. I guess people want to make themselves feel smarter

I'm with you on that one I've been insulted some people asked me if I speak English or if I know how to read. I told them if I'm writing this in English then they are the one who don't know how to read.

i get nagged by grammar too, but im not the kind of person to care, its just that your and you're are too different things! that one pisses me off the most. i dont care about apostrophes because we dont pronounce them, and i like it how some people type the way they talk... i dont
