There are plenty of chips in Vegas. Just go to any roulette wheel. There are some places in Vegas to get tripe. Just ask some of the locals for a good store that sells Mexican food. Just check them out when you book the trip on Vegas.com

I booked my trip to vegas online I shopped orbitz, travelocity, and other sites and found booking flight and hotel together saved me alot. I stayed at Mandalay Bay. It is at the end of the strip and you can see the whole strip frome your window. It's awsome! Just make sure you book for strip view and as high a floor as you can get (stand).
no need for a car unless you are planning on leaving the strip and even then all you hae to do is walk out of the lobby and there is hundred taxies waiting. Also if you are planning to see any shows book those ahead of time, you will save money and time.

Go to www.sidestep.com to get the best prices on air, hotel, car or vacation package. Best to book seperately .. really don't save money with packages. Stay on the strip if this is your first time. Do not bother with a rental car. There is so much to do and see on the strip you will be walking most of the time. Try to avoid Friday and Saturday and stay Sunday thru Thursday for the best prices. Stay away from Circus Circus, Sahara and Stratosphere. They are cheaper than the rest but their locations arent very good. Good luck and have fun.

"Sara" & "Bobby" both gave you good advice and good sites to check out.
A couple of other good sites
http://www.cheapovegas.com
For LV resorts
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/referenceguide-hotels.cfm
>I always book through the hotel. There are many advantages in doing so.
I do use these sites to compare rates - Some LV hotels will price match
http://www.travelworm.com
http://www.hotels.com
IMO these are the best "value" hotels in Las Vegas "generally"
Luxor - 4 star, on the strip
Stratosphere - on the strip
LV Hilton - just East of the strip
Orleans - 1 mile West of the strip
Gold Coast - 1 mile West of the strip
Golden Nugget - 4 star, downtown
Main Street Station - downtown
El Cortez - downtown
I would start with those if you're looking to save money.

GO TO EXPEDIA.COM, OR PRICLINE.COM, ETC. THESE WEBSITES OFFER HOTEL, FLIGHT, CAR RENTALS, ETC. YOU CAN CLICK ON TO PHOTOS OF THE HOTELS, OR GO ON A VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE HOTEL. DON'T PICK SOMETHING WITH OUT PHOTOS, THESE ARE USUALLY SMALL MOTELS.
