Roaches won't put you in a hospital (except possible germs from where they've been). I'm in Florida -- I almost died from ONE fire ant bite years ago. Not too long ago I was bit by a spider on my forehead and I got really really sick -- lots of medication and finally a steroid medication. I'm not afraid of roaches -- whether they fly or not. They gross me out but my fear is the ones who can make you sick. I was bit by a scorpion once and it scared the crap out of me (felt like a wasp bite) and I thought I'd "die" but the small Florida scorpions aren't poisonous. I had the same reaction from the ONE fire ant bite that a person would get from a rattlesnake bite. I'm what you might call.....really cautious.

I don't like spiders and cockroaches are just gross. I am in europe and have never seen a flying cockroach, but I guess you know what you are talking about.
The reason why I don't like spiders is that they eat one another, so do rats so I hate them too.
Yet I try not to kill any, unless they are in my way and don't get out of it, like run at me very fast the moment I turn the lights out, I had a spider do that and for some reason I did just see it and squashed it with my foot! Yuk!
Btw, in some places they eat cockroaches and they even have competitions at who can eat the most in the shortest amount of time.

Ohhhhh man...I used to live in Hawaii...and would wake up to the sounds of my parents frantically running around the house trying to dodge those big scary flying roaches that are almost big enough to stand up and make direct eye contact with you!....ugh...I feel your pain. I'd say either the huge centipedes that would sometimes make it into our house (CREEPY) or the gigantic MOTHS that would purch on the window or screen door...and if you got too close to them, they'd fan out their bottom wings to reveal these BIG yellow circles with black dots in the middle. They looked like big glowing eyes...(they use them to scare off predators) oh...then there was the fern in our back yard that was INFESTED with sooooo many lady bugs...that it looked ALIVE...(shudders) - you take yor pick! lol...I ran home everyday in tears about some THING...lol...tropical bugs...gotta love it right?

I hate all bugs in general, but spiders tend to creep me out the most... they always crawl on me and freak me out cause I won't notice them til the last second when.... and I hate stepping on on black widows and roaches cause they have a really loud crunching sound...

Centipedes.
You would pass out if you came to Hawaii! Our roaches are so big we call them B-52s and some people joke that they are the state bird!

well, I don't like roaches, just because they are gross..but they don't scare me. The only things that will make me get up and cause a scene are bees/wasps, etc....or pincher bugs (earwigs).
