Native white Americans have been busy turning themselves into tattooed ``wiggers´´ or, they are trying to get rich quick with some condo flipping scheme or something similar.

The braniacs, for the most part, are Asian nationals, immigrants and their children. They still have the work ethic PLUS they emphasize the hard sciences. Don´t believe me? Check out the surnames of top students at any big city high school.

Forget the Nobel Prize measure. The men that win are older, white gentlemen from another era and many of them are foreign born too. In contemporary America, its the Asians that disproportionately excel in chemistry, physics, biology, etc. In short order, they will be dominating these prizes.

1-in most other countries, education plays a much more important role in the life of a child than in north america. Any testing done shows that people in other, even second or third world countries, score much higher than american students.

2-keep in mind that the immigration requirements can be pretty strict, so obviously you'll have more immigrants with a good educations, doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc.

ps-to everyone looking at the nobel prizes as a measurement of the education level of the American public: keep in mind that the majority of people that win the Nobel prizes in science are immigrants. They live in the US, therefore that country gets the recognition, but the people themselves are usually not American.

You're seeing their best and brightest, who were usually educated in American colleges.

If all of the really smart intelligent people are from other countries, can you explain how we lead the world in the number of Nobel Prizes awarded that are actually worth something (physics, chemistry, medicine, etc.)?

Other countries have a much more rigorous approach towards education... particularly the Japanese. Many other countries stress hard work, deep concentration... the US? Not so much.

you have 1 BILLION people in India and another Billion in China...

the more people you have... the more smart people you will have...

simple statistics...

we have a third of that, so by simple odds, we will have a third the number of intelligent people...

and the most intelligent (especially in India) often come to the U.S.
