No we don't spoil the girls (2 dogs) - but they are especially valued members of the household. How could I not value them when they probably saved my son's life a week or so ago?

See my q for details:

Yes... to a degree. As much as I love my pets, I am always mindful that there are pets... but I definitely spoiled my dogs when I lived out West, and now that I only have a cat, she is spoiled rotten by everyone in the house.

Oh. no! Much, much worse! Children have to learn to live and get along in the "REAL" world. Parents who actually "spoil" a child are setting that child up.
That's why I have pets! Everyone should have the pleasure of "spoiling" SOMETHING absolutely rotten! }:>

For "crazeyem": That's not a pet, kiddo... You're raising a "responsible" citizen! Want to help me with my kid? lol

Well, to the extent that I would spoil a child I suppose. Once in a while I'll buy them a treat just because, but they sleep in their own beds, eat nutritious food, pee where they are supposed to, do not have lots of fancy dress up clothes, do not get to chew on the couch, and do not have a trust fund.

I think that he's spoiled more than a child.

Oh my gosh, yes. We treat and talk to her like a little baby. She's got a tin bucket full of toys, she lays and sleeps on my bed, she has her own little bed, she is aloud to lay on the leg rest stool downstairs, and she gets a treat just for using the potty outside.

(Ours too, zaddi j!)
