False. My partner is my ex-husband, so we don't really have an anniversary. He remembers my birthday, but he just buys me something at the last minute that I don't like that much and wish he hadn't spent our money on. And in the past, he's handed it to me in the bag with the receipt in it. My birthday's next month. I hope he's learned by now.

Don't let it happen. Circle the date on the calendar. Enlist her or her help in planning the celebration. Leave ads around and say how the store has the perfect gift for you.
If your spouse or partner loves you and shows this on a daily basis, laying a trap for them to start an argument is pointless. Don't play games in a relationship. It's immature and destructive.

True, my husband forgot our anniversary 9 years ago. I dropped hints, asked if he would like a special dinner and he still didn't get it. Finally I just burst into tears and said I can't believe you forgot our anniversary!
From then on I remind him about 10 days before and he does great job of doing nice things for me.

Oh yeah, true to a certain extent. Our anniversary is on Halloween, he didn't exactly forget, BUT I bought him all sorts of cool gifts last year (our first) and he didn't get me anything. SO, just not to make him feel like an ***, I kept his gifts for Christmas. Made me feel like I was not worth his time to tell you the truth, especially since we were renewing our vows last year and we/he didn't exchange gifts of some sort. I hope this year will be better.

False. My husband always remembers my birthday and our anniversary, but we don't celebrate them because he was taught by his mother that they are just like any other day. His mother also taught him that on your birthday you should call your mother and thank her for giving birth to you.
It really irritates me that we don't celebrate these special days. It makes me depressed. It's also a kind of triple whammy for me because my birthday is our anniversary date which is three days before Christmas and he thinks that should just be a regular day also. No celebration. It's really depressing.
