No, not later the same day. Most people mean they will see you later in the next life time.

No, I never take to mean later the same day unless I already know that I will be seeing that person at an event that same day or something like that

No,,,,,,,I take it as an open time frame as to happen sometime in the future. The same goes for "talk to you later", which means later on in time.

No. "Later" can mean 5 minutes or 5 days--whenever I see the person next.

Usually they dont say that to me theyll probably say see you at school or something but not see you later

No it just means that they will see you at a later date.I pretty much always say "I'll see you when I see you ." So I guess I will catch you later ? Until then a nice shiny star for you !
