Maybe she wanted to make her OWN breakthrough like Gwen Stefani. She wanted to do her own thing at her own time.

i would guess that she really didnt get to express herself. where as being a solo singer she can sing about girl stuff when she really coudlnt in the black eyed peas cuz its basically a boy band and shes the only girl.

She wanted to be a solo artist, and so she got the chance. She isnt THAT good, but they surely shouldn't have just left her band to rot in the dust.

She pretty much used them from what I can make out. They were around for years before she joined them, they then got some fame, she then left to make her own money.
