I am 13 and I am doing a speech on Metallica. I would like to know their biggest hits. I could name alot of songs that are famous by them, but what I want to know what were the actual hits of that time. So is there anyone out there who lived through this era who could tell me the actual hits?

The ones that made them huge are Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman, yes they had several hits before that and they had some after, but those two got them on MTV. According to some Metallica fans these songs are also the downfall of Metallica, considering that's when they started to "sell out" as some would say.

There is One, Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, Until it sleeps, Hero Of The Day, The Memory Remains, The Unforgiven II, Fuel, Better Than You, Turn the Page, Whiskey In The Jar, No leaf clover, I disapper, St. Anger, and Master of the Puppets.
Some hits in their day would probably be Enter Sandman, Until It sleeps, and Load due to it being played and on MTV or/and winning an American Music Award.
