I started wearing maternity clothes around 3-4 months. Keep in mind though that your belly might not be growing at this time, but your uterus is and the rest of your insides are moving into place to make room for the baby. Many women are ashamed to wear maternity clothes so early on, but with the new line of clothes they have these days, have fun with it and just remember that it will only be for 9 months. Good luck!

My stomach started growing within the first 12 weeks. With the increase in appetite and the decrease in excercise due to my being tired all of the time I started gaining weight early on. By 3 and a half months I started buying and wearing maternity clothes. I know I wasn't showing by then, but I was gaining a few extra pounds anyway. I bought bigger sizes and pinned them though so I didn't have to buy more later.

I am about 12 weeks in and no need for maternity clothes yet. I am pregnant with baby #1. I actually lost a couple of lbs (due to loss of appetite the first 2 months, although no nausau or vomiting) I still fit into my favorite pair of Express jeans comfortably! I suppose that will change in a few more months ; )

When I hit about 14 or 16 weeks, the waistband of my jeans started rolling over. I didn't actually get any maternity pants until about 22 weeks. I started wearing maternity tops after about 3 months, though.

I was still able to fit into some of my pre-prego pants just days before giving birth both times. However, I wore maternity clothes(mainly because I could LOL) starting around 5 months with #1 and 2 months with #2.

My first pregnancy I didn't wear them, I just wore big t-shirts and did the pony-tail loop trick with my pants. My second pregnancy I started wearing them about 6months, and this pregnancy (14 weeks) I'm already wearing a much larger bra, and had to get stretchy pants, so I know the maternity clothes are comning very soon

With my first, I didn't wear maternity clothes at all. I was really quite small---only my belly grew.
With my second, I started wearing maternity pants around 6 months.....the low waisted ones were not marketed yet... so they sat way above my belly...sexy huh?
With my third---- I had a few shirts and just a few pair of pants... but I didn't really start wearing them until I was about 6 months prego.
It depends for each woman--- everyone's body changes at different rated and different stages...
Plus... I didn't have to dress in professional attire for work.... so it was not a necessity.
