I know that one Hasafer. Because I used to jump to assumptions all the time, before I got rid (partially) of this habit.

The reason why some people jump to conclusion is that their brain works faster than their other senses. That's very stressful believe me, when you hear something interesting and you can't wait to know the whole story, your brain keeps working creating and fabricating all the small tiny details around that story, with time your brain will convince you that the story generated inside your head is the truth.

depending on that story, you may hate or love someone, get angry or happy, ...etc. when you find out the real one, maybe it is just nothing interesting and you start blaming yourself.

There is nothing much you can do, if you are one of those. It will take time and life experience will teach you how to be patient and wait.

I have to put 2 and 2 together first before making any conclusion and that always helps.

However, when i do jump into conclusions, i bump my head and end up with a migraine lol ;-)

its a very common thing to jump to conclusions or stereotype or do any of those things weve so recently condemned, basically because its much easier for the brain to process. Its easy for the brain to link "untidy fingernails" to "unhygenic and filthy" because thats what it USUALLY means, yeah sure theres an exception, a population that grows fingernails because they practice poterry or play a plucked instrument. but generally, your brain jumps to the immedeate conclusion that a "person with untidy fingernails is unhygenic" without considering the other options because most people do take care of their nails.

and i just used that as an example, there are many more examples i could have chose from, but as long as you get the general point, its easier just to follow your instinct and jump to the concusion because most of the time its right.

Justice is most important before jumping into conclusion. Must way the pros and cons and be keen in every situation so as to have more concrete or final solution.

Assumptions are what makes us make sense of the world as human beings, its apart of our cognitive mental processors, because we are human and make mistakes, we do this when we have incorrectly processed information, it has simply gone into the wrong file-if our brain looked like a computer it occasionally needs defragmenting- hence we all make assumptions because this is human psychology. the people that are reflective of their own assumptions that can do it at a quick pace are the officially clever.

I think people just think those who self harm are more depressed than emo/Gothic, because they usually are. It's been a while since I heard someone describe someone else emo haha ^_^ Idk if some "emo" people still cut just because it's part of the "image" like some did back then. In addition to them, many emo/Gothics self harmed for more legit purposes and I guess that's why self harm is linked to being emo/Gothic now regardless of physical appearance. Sorry I don't think that made sense. Lol

You know what, you put your hands on one of the most important things in communication and in life generally, assuming.
One should not assume, they must make sure they build their opinions, actions and viewpoints on rigid reality, not assumed thoughts.

And for me, I try always not to make such a mistake and Alhamulellah succeed most of time, however in some critical situations I assume sometimes.
