Text messaging is not one of the features that extends your contract. It could happen if you change you actual calling plan to a TEXT calling plan like the America's Choice Select Or Premium Plan(s). They are actually calling plans that just include unlimited text messaging. You could just as easily add a package for 10 dollars and get Unlimited IN text messaging with 500 off network texts. In doing that you will not have to extend your plan...even changing your calling plan (select or premium) wont even extend it. Things that will /or could extend your plan are:
1. Purchasing another phone after 30 days the contract was initiated.
2. Early Upgrade
3. A new every two upgrade
4. Adding a line to your plan withing 3-5 months of you upgrade eligibility date.

They probably don't just go to the Verizon store and tell them that you want to have a text messaging plan. They probably won't make you extend your contract.

i dont think they make you extend the contract for another two years, but verizon has pretty good deals with everything so even if you did have to extend it, it wouldnt be a bad deal. i have verizon and i love it!

NO you are able to no longer roll the unused texts over. i dont think of any cellular company does this. yet in spite of everything, its extra effective to pay extra desirable and not use them. once you bypass over and that they can charge you .25 in keeping with message you;ll be happy you probably did!! =) bypass with the extra desirable texting plan, even inspite of the indisputable fact which you cant carry them over (I even have asked lol)

No they do not extend it. Just go to www.verizonwireless.com & e-mail them. They'll set you up with a plan right away. No big deal at all....there is no extra time on your current plan.
