i got a real id its called a passport , or a driver license or god forbid a social security card. i don't need another one
vote no any chance you get on a national id card

REAL ID is the product of fascism in this country. It was also an idea of Nazi Germany and I don't think any sane person actually wants the United States of America to be anything like Nazi Germany. There are other, more-effective ways to stop illegal immigration that do not infringe upon the civil liberties of Americans.

NO WAY, BUT THE PROBLEM IS...Will WE HAVE A CHOICE? THIS SET UP HAS BEEN IN PLACE FOR MANY YEARS, THE GOV' ISN'T GOING TO JUST SAY "OK YOU DON'T WANT IT YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE IT" IF ENOUGH PEOPLE WANT IT, THE ONES WHO DON'T WILL BE HAVE TO ANYWAYS. for PEOPLE WHO SAY THAT THEY WANT TO STOP ILLEGAL MIGRATION, THEY SHOULD KNOW THAT THE BUSH ADMIN HAS OPENED UP THE BORDERS WITH SOMETHING CALLED THE NORTH N AMERICAN UNION. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF, IF HE IS SO AFRAID OF TERRORISTS WHY HAVE AN AGREEMENT LIKE THIS ONE WHICH OPENS UP THE BORDERS BETWEEN THE U.S MEXICO AND CANADA. WOULDN'T THAT MAKE IT EASIER FOR TERRORISTS TO GET IN TO THE COUNTRY? WHAT I'M REALLY SCARED ABOUT IS WHAT COMES AFTER THESE "I.D" CARDS. ONE DAY THEY AREN'T GOING TO BE ENOUGH, MICRO-CHIPPING EVERYONE IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.

it was supposed to come out this spring. looks like a minimum of two more years at this point. you know there will be plenty of folks in this country who will never get one. i'd rather just have a passport. (leave it sit on a powerful magnet for awhile to disable the new tracking device under the cover).

The Real ID is not anyone keeping any more of an eye on you than they already have been -- it's just a set of standards on what the US govt will accept as IDs -- most of which states have been using for over a decade already.
And it's sharing database information with the federal govt -- meaning that instead of just the state knowing everything, the feds will to.
It's not a national ID card -- it's just a set of standards. And as restrictions go -- it's comparably minor compared to most of the limitations placed on us in the past decade.

The federal government does not have the right to know who and where its citizens are.
If they want to catch illegal aliens, they are going to have to do it some other way.
