Smoking Weed Before Surgery?

I am having surgery on Tues morn. and I love to smoke the herbals. I took a couple of puffs today and plan on not drinking or smoking anything else until after I am healed, and I don't smoke ciggs, Am I going to croak or end up in the icu? This anesthesia stuff is pure bullshit you think they would have a safer way.

I might add that I will not be smoking or drinking anything else until my surgery (which is about three days away), duh I'm not an imbicile why would I get high and go into surgery? That's just stupid. I know the risks. ALL I want is to make sure this is a safe enough time frame to clear out my lungs. Thanks.

Talk to your doctor. Anything you tell him is confidential anyways. Just let him know if you plan on getting high afterwards, and have him adjust your meds.

ANYBODY who tells you it is OK to smoke ANYTHING (including Pot, Coke, Hashish, or Marlboro cigarettes) is totally WRONG!!!!!! Listen, I have had 37 surgeries and I used to be a smoker (of more then just Marlboros)...and YES, it can have some SERIOUS consequences for your lungs .... would you like pneumonia???? Don't be so stupid.. stay away from the illegals until whatever you are having surgery on is FREE OF STITCHES or STAPLES or GLUE because if you take a toke and COUGH, you can destroy whatever is holding the wound together and risk BLEEDING to death or at best a SERIOUS infection..... Your life however, end it any way you deem fit.

Do not do that. You cannot know how your body will react to the anesthesia and other drugs together with whatever you smoke.

BE HONEST WITH YOUR DOCTOR AND ANESTHETIST.

Depending upon the surgery you are having, sometimes there are safer ways.
