I guess the personal side of me says - wow - what an idea! But the business side of me says - there would be no profit in it.
Think about the costs:
cars, gasoline, insurance, and a salary for the delivery person.

Even if they subcontracted out the delivery service to people who used their own cars, the amount of additional sales would not make up for the salary they would have to pay for somebody to do the deliveries.

And -if they charged a flat $5 or so delivery fee - people would not want to pay an additional $5 on top of the price of the food - since - the food is very inexpensive to begin with.

Believe me - if there was a good market - someone would do it. But I think it just isn't a good money maker for McD's or someone who wanted to do it on the side.

they really should, actually. It's not only convienient for people who want to stay in and watch a DVD,or something, but it's also good for disabled people who can't get out and drive to a McDonald's every time they have a Big Mac attack. That would be a great idea.

That is quite true. They would make soooo much more money if they did deliver.
I could do with a nice chocolate milkshake now you've suggested it.

They do, but not in the UK, When I have my meal in their restaurant here many at time I've had to send it back because it's cold so would not recommend them for deliveries though when I come to think about it... could go one right now...

I'm sure it will come along eventually if enough people ask for it. Write a letter to McDonalds and give them the suggestion.

Probably because it's nearly cold when they hand it to you in their restaurants, it would be stone cold by the time they delivered it!

Many a time I have had to send it back to be replaced with hot food.
