I have Tampax sport regulars and Playtex pearl regulars. I am afraid that the regulars will be to big but I can not find any lites besides with cardboard applicators. Do you think it would be bad to use the regulars? Also is it bad that the cotton easy comes out off the tampon? I have my period this week and I want to start using them because I have spirit week at my school and don't want to leak or anything. Please any advice. Also can I wear them for a little of 6 hours, the length of the school day?

First of all, Tampax is the brand that makes the Pearls, and Playtex makes Playtex Sport. I think it would be fine for you to use regular flow tampons, the lites are generally used for the ending of your period when the flow is barely coming out. You might want to try using Playtex SlimFits Regular-Flow Tampons because they're so small that they'll absorb like a lite tampon. Best of luck!

The regulars should be just fine, if you feel you need something smaller, Tampax pearl makes a tampon for lite days. Remember to relax when putting it in and follow the direction, they really help. The cotton shouldn't come off the tampon, but I wouldn't worry about it. It does expand when liquid hits it but that is what it's supposed to do. Also, 6 hrs is a little long. I suggest keeping something in a bag and when you go to the bathroom at school change it. If you think you might leak try a thin pad like Always thin pads. That way if you do leak....no mess! Good luck! You will find out tampons are great!

I had alot of problems when I first started using tampons. To be honest I could not wear one comfortably until I was about 18 years old. I would not recommend tampax or anything with a cardboard applicator. Try playtex with a plastic applicator it inserts more easily and the tampon is more comfortable.

It depends on your flow. In the beginning of your period you will likely need to change your tampon more than every six hours. Now you can wear them for up to eight hours but again it would depend on your flow.

If you are afraid of leaks, put on a pantyliner that will help prevent this.

I stared my period when I was 12, and now, I am also 14. I used pads my first time because that's what all my friends told me to do (they didn't like tampons). But I hated pads because at night it would get soooo messy, so I quickly switched to tampons (what my mom had suggested in the first place). I bough tampax pearl regulars and they were fabulous. I've never had cotton come off of the tampon, but once i did recieve one that didn't have a string to pull it out (don't wanna get yourself into that situation). The healthy length to keep them in is 3-4 hours. I insert one right when I wake up in the morning, during lunch, and then right when I get home from school. I hope I was a help!

It isn't bad to use any type of tampon! The only thing is that if you're a virgin it can be harder to get the regular ones in because they're wider. But as long as you can get them in, they're fine to use

Usually you can find "teen" or "slim" versions of regular tampons, so look for those, they're thinner and easier to get in. Teen lites have cardboard applicators, but they're rounded at the tip, so they're just as good as pearls.

Also, the cotton will NOT come off the tampon!

You can wear them for 6 hours. It's recommended you change them every 4-8 hours, so 6 is fine.

Regulars will be fine. I use super and even super plus sometimes and I have never had a problem. The regular is also good since it absorbs more and lasts longer. Don't worry about the cotton, it is like that on every one and yes, you can wear them for six hours but never more then 8. Just be careful, cause if you are bleeding a lot, you may need to change it more often.

1. No I think it will be fine to use the regulars, but when you try to pull it out and it hurts a bit, try leaving it in for a bit longer (ever more than eight hours though).
2. No I don't think it's bad. Besides, the cotton that comes off in your vagina will just be washed out of there with blood or discharge.
3. At the start of my cycle, when my period is at it's heaviest, I only leave my tampon in for 4 hours so yes, you can leave it in for 6 hours. Be sure to take it out before the eight hours is up.
Hope this helps and good luck *hugs* xo

honey, you need get smaller size, if this will fit you proper. Don't use regular once. I use the regular Tampax Pearl tampon. It's work perfect for me. Maybe if you want to try get JuniorTampax Pearl. This will work for you. Remember, changing it more often. Don't leave in too long. If I were you.

tampons are soo much better than pads. i always use the tampax pearl and they slide in so easily. regulars are the perfect size and i leave mine in for the whole school day. lite tampons would not hold for 6 hours though. good luck!!
