"Popeye" still amazes me the most because he and the others in the cast truly brought the cartoon characters to life quite vividly. He leapt from standup comic to the screen, singing, dancing and remaining the focus of attention even with veteran actor Ray Walston and character actors Shelley Duvall, Bill Irwin, Paul Dooley and Richard Libertini. Yet, he did not "hog" the spotlight. It's very much an ensemble film that made me remember those "Thimble Theater" comic strips with all of their intricacies.
Each time I watch this film, which was slammed by critics and ignored by much of the public, I see some new detail. It must have been an amazing experience on the big screen, and I regret not being able to see it as it should be seen, so that all of those details show up even more, although it would be rather like watching a tennis match at times, what with trying to keep track of what everyone is doing throughout the very busy scenes.
Maybe someday people will begin appreciating this film more and realizing the amazing job Robin Williams did.
I also have to comment on his work in three other films:
1) In "Good Will Hunting", he is the ONLY good part of what is nothing but an egofest for Matt Damon. He complete steals the film in his rather brief time.
2) In "Awakening", he proves that he doesn't need antics to be the star of the show. I remember him talking about what critics thought of his performances, ranging from the manic to quieter roles. About "Awakenings", he said that the critics said something like, "My God! The man is comatose!" *giggle*
3) He is absolutely delightful and heartbreaking in "The Fisher King", and it's agonizing when we know that he must face the memory of his wife being killed by a man whose actions were set in motion by the person who has befriended him. Whether making us laugh with his antics or cry in sympathy, Robin Williams owns this movie.

And Genie is so god darn hilarious and fun to watch!!! :D
"Listen to Genie dear, Genie knows!"
One of my favorite lines from Genie in Aladdin and the King of Thieves, impersonating Mrs. Doubtfire!

Wow, that's a hard question. I love so many of his movies! But, if I had to pick, it would be between Hook and Mrs. Doubtfire. I absolutely loved those as a kid, and I still love them now. They are excellent movies!

Dammit, I forgot the name. It was one of his early ones. The one where he loses his job and joins a militia.
Of his new ones, he was great in Birdcage.
