for 10 days, any idea if i have to wear this thing in bed too, only i forgot to ask!!! Thanks

Usually you do, if your neck needs to be immobile for ten days then it must be very sore and painful. I would give the hospital a quick ring, or failing that phone NHS Direct pet.

I'm not altogether sure. But, the idea of the collar is to limit movement of your neck, giving the muscles and tendons a rest as well as support the weight of your head, which again takes the strain off the muscles and tendons. As an ex nurse I have seen patients wearing these collars in bed at night. Although lying down reduces stress to the neck, you still move, twist and turn in your sleep. The best thing to do is ask your GP who will know what sort of injury you had.

If you have to be wear during the day, it may be a good idea to wear at night too.

yes you should,in case you do more damage to your neck,while tossing and turning while a sleep,but check with hospital for verification
