In the game, people say "I got hacked" or "My main got hacked", and even when I talk to people through other methods it's "I used to play but I got hacked." Seriously, are people THAT stupid? Do they make their passwords "aaaa" or something and fall for scams? I myself have never been hacked nor have I even suspected that I've been hacked once. Ever. But I keep my password very safe, change it at least once a month and use passwords like q9zo4v2s8ddl20a (not actual password). So if people are tired of being hacked, take some time to actually keep your account secure!
And don't answer just to say "runescape SUCKS play

From what I heard, some people download programs that auto level up their characters. I don't play the game but these are fake programs and can screw you over.

I had a friend who claimed to be "hacked" once, after some questioning I found out he had given his password out to nearly every person on his friends list, and he couldn't see the connection between him giving away his password and all his items disappearing.

People fall for scams and give out their passwords. One time this guy pretended to be an admin and threatened to delete my account if i didnt give my password so i just logged off

Basically, all of the above. Their either idiots who didn't protect their passwords or used secondary programs that stole their pass or their scammers/beggers. I've been playing for years , am ranked #13,266 & have never been hacked.

dude you do know that they are lying they are actualy trying to get free stuff or higher lvl accounts to sell for real money and no one is that stupid to make weak passwords also i have my account so frecking secure i have every thing that they give you to keep your account secure but something tells me that they can do better to keep our accounts (not realy or accounts realy belong to runescape or jaqex whatever their names are)secure
