|u| = sqrt( 16+ 16) = sqrt(32)
then
the new vector is 3/sqrt(32) < 4, -4>

I suppose that the vector is (3,4,-4) so the unit vector is
1/sqrt(41) ( (3,4,-4) and if the magnitude is k the vector is
k/sqrt(41)*(3,4,-4)
