I'm English, and I hate to say it, but the camera shot from behind seemed to show his foot slide along the ground and hit the touch line just before the ball was grounded.

On the day I think we played better than S. Africa, but overall S.Africa were a lot more consistent than us in the tournament.....and they were luckier than us in the final. Maybe it's a good thing for rugby that they won. Hopefully the S. African government will think twice about changing selection for their team to a quota basis.

Why oh why...4 years ago did Woodwood and a lot of our great players jump ship so quickly instead of making sure that the team survived. Yes we need to introduce younger players, but we lost the old team overnight instead of in a more gradual manner. That's the real reason for the problems in the English rugby team over the last 4 years.

Hopefully we have learned our lesson!!!

Stop moaning!!! the law states: player touches the line, he is out & we will have a lineout unless there was an advantage being played. It doesnt matter that he wasnt touching the line anymore! To be honest with yourselves, England should count themselves lucky to be in the final;
consider all the thrashings they have endured recently.
To scrum a hapless fat Aussie into the ground & then grind out an uninspired French team to get to final doesnt make you worthy for the cup. Take it on the chin boys!

Some you win, some you lose.

Like the commentry said (on ITV) enough people have been slapping New Zealand down maybe even gloating, since their exit from the competition, that they have to live with the officials decisions but what goes around comes around and it has to work both ways doesn't it?

Even if they had been given the try, they would still have lost! Can't be a sore loser!

Yeah, same old story - it was the refs fault just because they lost.

The other way round and everything would be hunky dory.

I should imagine the answer to your question is "just about every English person who saw the replays!"

I reckon it was a try. No doubt about that.
