Do you really know anything about the Yankees? Who is there number seven hitter? Name three middle relievers. When was the last time the Yankees won the World Series? If you can't answer these simple questions you should think about if you really are a true fan. Maybe you should pick a team closer to home? At least you could watch them play rather than watching highlights on TV.
The Yankees are the most popular team in the entire world due to marketing so its very understandable that people jump on the bandwagon around the globe daily. Its okay to stick with the team you have begun to root for. Just make sure you do stick with them. Its going to be hard to be true to them over the next few years unfortunately for you. When they lose the American League East for the next decade, you'll wish you would have picked the Redsox.

No. What's the difference, if you have never been a fan of a sport, and then watch it for the first time, And that team happens to be the yankees, and you decide to follow that team, If you became a fan during the season, instead after the season and or a championship. then theres a lot to argue,
but I say no, because truefully, a fan like there team for one of 2 reasons, They live in that city, or they do good at one point, so, the latter of the 2, makes everyone a bandwagoner!

Well, I'm betting that 80% of the people that are rooting for the Rockies to win it all are bandwagon fans.
In regards to the 2nd question, there are 50 states and only 30 teams, 5 are in California, 2 in Illinois, 2 in New York, 2 in Missouri, 2 in Ohio, 2 in Florida, 2 in Pennsylvania. So if you think about it, most states don't have a team. But I think if you live in a city or region that has a bad team which made you a fan of an out of state team, then that makes you a bad fan in general.

No, just an irresponsible one.
"...it's not My Fault i Became a Fan fo Them..." -- well then, whose? YOU CHOSE YOUR FANDOM -- fandom doesn't cast itself upon people. You decided to be a Yankees fan -- and while therapy is available, you made the same choice as millions of others. OWN THAT, at least, will you? "not My Fault" indeed! (derisive snort)
You'll know whether you are a bandwagoner when they have a few losing seasons -- not merely get knocked out in the Division Series, not merely miss the playoffs, but have actual below-.500 seasons. Savor five or six of those in a row and see what you think then. Winning isn't the test of the bandwagon -- losing is.

I guess to be a "bandwagon" fan you would have to be a fan during their success and then bail on them when they had a couple of off years. But really the last few HAVE been off years by Yankee standards and you never quit on them right?
As for being less of a fan because you're out of state, I'd say if you lived there for awhile and were a fan, then moved, you are just as much of a fan as anyone from there. However, if you never lived anywhere near where the team is from, I don't think you can be considered as die hard as some of the local fans.

G'day Yankee Fan for Live,
Thank you for your question.
Hell no. A bandwagon fan picks a team when they are winning and drops them when they are not. A true fan sticks with his or her team through thick and thin. You sound like a true fan.
Supporting a team from outside your state is fine. Indeed, I am a Yankees fan and I have always lived in Australia. Besides it would be natural for a fan in eastern Connecticut or northern New Jersey to support the Yankees or another side. They are the closest team in the big leagues.
Regards

You are not a bandwagon fan. You love the team and that's that. A bandwagon fan is someone who just starts liking a team because they are in first place and doing well. That is not you. You are knowledgeable and I like you!
It doesn't matter what state or country you live in..if you are a fan of a team, that's all that matters.

No not at all! A fan is a fan. I didn't get into baseball untill 2005 and then I became a St. Louis Cardinal fan. I've learned SOOOO much about them since then and I'm still learning so much. But I've become such a huge baseball fan since then.

lol YOU?? haha you are one of the biggest yankee fans i know (and i don't even really know you haha).
don't worry about what others say, just enjoy the sport and the team and you'll be happy.
i think to be a bandwagon fan you have to be one of those people who hate a team when they're doing bad and love them only when they're doing great. you're definitely not one of those fans. i remember you sticking by them when they were sucking in the beginning of the season and even by sticking by them now, you're proving to be a loyal fan.
and nah, where you live has nothing to do with it. that's just silly! it sure gives you a reason to root for the team, but it doesn't mean you HAVE to root for the team closest to you.
