Maybe, maybe not. It is proper to tip the driver of a taxi cab. It is a service job and it is customary to tip anywhere from 15 to 20%. Now, as I see it, the real question is; What was the wife doing exiting a taxi cab? Was her car in the shop? Did it break down? Does she have a car? Was someone else using her car? Was she drinking? I don't know! You tell me. Curious, Ciao

All that anyone can say from that is that for some reason she needed to go somewhere and called a cab. Giving taxi drivers a tip is normal.

How would this 'man' know if she was tipping or "paying"?
Most people I know who work in service professions that recieve tips routinely tip all other service proffssionals. A cab driver falls under the to tip category to most people especially if he was pleasant, got you where you were going in a timely manner and the cab was clean..... If this man thinks his wife is cheating he needs to ask her.....and quit looking for ways to start an arguement so he can be justified to cheat........

Youre either a college student with a class project or a very paranoid jealous husband with a very vivid imagination and coming up with every possible scenario to see if your wife is having an affair. Just being married to someone who asks the questions you do would drive anyone into an affair.

I am beginning to think there is something definately wrong with your thought pattern if you think your wife is having an affair because she smiles at a waiter, tips a cabbie, etc.... all the other posts you have already made...
Let me ask you something... do you not smile at people? Do you not tip a cabbie? Smiling, showing appreciation for good service by tipping.... this is NORMAL behavior for any decent person.
Also? Did you have an affair with the last cabbie you tipped, the last waiter who waited on you ... You are definately paranoid, possibly obessive, insecure or having or thinking of having an affair yourself... quit questioning your wive's ability to be kind and gracious to other people... IT IS NORMAL!

she sounds like a lady to me.... So, do not spoil the great thing that you have by looking for something that is not there! be thankful for what you have because there are people out there who are looking for an honest person , "which is hard to find!"
