The silence doesn't bother me at all. You can't keep blabbing constantly. I simply don't worry at all about what the other is thinking. I just try to be good company, polite and interested. Don't try to force anything. Just let it go honey and let nature take it's course.
I knew a guy once who sang when there was a lull and it was such a charming act. I loved it.
BUT, I think it's awkward when the bill comes. I always want to offer to pay at least half. I think men like it when a woman at least offers to pay even though some men wouldn't think of allowing his date to pay for anything!

you mean, aside from almost everything? i think its gets easier as you get older. you see teens going out and you can automatically tell if they've hung out before or what.
