i have tried all the usuall stuff like altering resolution, updating drivers ect.

it has been fixing its self if i changed the resolution down to 1280 x 960 then back again too 1280 x 1024.

Looking at how you changed your resolution, it's probably the resolution you chose. It probably has to do with something how your screen ratio is different than the ratio of that selected resolution. I'm having a similar problem, only I chose the wrong resolution and now my screen is balck and I can't reset the resolution because I cannot see to change the resolution. LOL.

If you have controls on your screen you can move your screen around. They might be small wheels attached to the moniter.
