Us. This is a variation of a very old Statement made years ago. It should read, " I have met the Enemy and it is Me." We are our own Worst Enemies in the sense that Most of our Problems and troubles are brought on us by Ourselves.

The quote is, "We have met the enemy and they are us." That means that we are our own worst enemy, that evil or upsetting forces exist within, not without.. I wish that were not so, but unfortunately, it seems to be the truth.

We have met the enemy -- and they are using tactics that our leaders say we must adopt.
We have met the enemy -- and they are far less scared of us than we are of them.
We have met the enemy -- and they are not the ones we decided to attack and pursue.
