No, I don't agree. That is like saying that there are no consequences for your actions and you don't care about what your eternal life will be like, you only care about the few years here on earth.

Can't really help you out if you agree, sorry.

Oh, that's a tricky one. Maybe you could bring up ideas about inherited sin- if you've studied that? The idea that everyone is a sinner because it is inherited (Originally from Adam/Eve and brought down through generation). This is the argument they used to use for infant baptism, so if the child died young (as they often did in earlier times) the child would not go to hell. Also Jesus dying for our sins and, thus, saving us. Afterlife could be mentioned.
Hmm...
It does seem that this would be easier to write from a different perspective. If you wrote about why people *do* need to be saved and why sin *is* relevant. As long as you make sure to put at least one opposing viewpoint (i.e aggreeing) you should be able to still do well on the essay. Every so often just write "However, according to Catholicism..." or something similar so that you mention some religios teachings. Some biblical quotes may help too.

Look over your class notes, whatever you've been studying recently probably includes everything that's expected in your answer.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Happy essay writing.

So far salvation exists only in the mind as there is no proof that the rewards promised really do exist. Sin is outdated because everyone including Governments and Religions do it, while ignoring the threatened consequences.

If you agree that sin is out dated, then rape isn't a sin, pedophilia isn't a sin etc. Sin is not outdated never will be. Your only concern is if their is a consequence for your actions in this life or the next. If there is no sin then you don't need salvation.

NO. Not if you believe in God and your religion. The Bible is the guide to live by and nothing has replaced it. If you believe you must follow those rules that are in it. It will never be outdated and you do need salvation if you want to go to Heaven because this is what God has told us in "His" book.
