STOP WHINING! Ummm.. I mean, tell your 6 year old, lol. Remember, children are constantly training their parents, not the other way around, unless you pay attention. Definitely make a set of rules and a punishment/reward system or this will only get worse as time goes by.

Too much sympathy over what? For somethings there isn't too much sympathy.

Not all kids are the same. I have one daughter that is very sensitive (easily hurt) and requires a little more coddling than the other two. She also is twice as happy when she's happy, so it's a nice trade sometimes.

Perhaps try and turn her attention to something other than what she is seeking the sympathy for. Maybe play a game that you both enjoy, or go for a walk and attempt to distract her.

maybe shes just trying to get more attention. praise her when she does deserve it. when shes being a whiner tell her she doest get anything. 6 year olds hate to be called a baby.

Telling her what she's doing and explain it to her and please do not cater to it. Make sure you're not misjudging her also. Be good to you and be happy.
