It was OK. It had some good jumpy and thriller moments. Overall it was pretty good. I wouldn't classify it as a wonderful scary movie, but it was overall enjoyable!

While I didn't enjoy it that much, I fully appreciated that this film does not rely on nudity, gore and bad language. It is a solid suspense story that practically everyone can view and wouldn't have to be chopped up for network viewing. Even the threat to the children is not as severe as in many movies.
The production values were excellent, and Camilla Belle (Isn't that her name?) did a very good job in the lead. The house, especially the garden part, was very interesting.
I'm glad that "When a Stranger Calls" was a relatively successful film because it could lead to more family-friendly movies.

I haven't seen it. But if it is like most remakes it is probably not as good as the 1979 version.
