My mom is engadged and me and her fiance are finally starting to hang out. He treats me like a baby! He pinches my cheeks and calls me embarassing nick names and he is always telling me that I am sooo cute! The other day my mom was at work and he was at my apartment and I was going to my friend's house and he said I couldn't walk even though it was just two buildings down, he HAD to drive me. I recently had a birthday and he got me theese stuffed animals and a gift card to Toys "R" Us, I'm 15! Sometimes he'll try to feed me and I can't wear mini-skirts or cut off tanks around him or he'll make me change. HELP! My mom is starting to baby me too. What should I do?

Be thankful...if that's the worst of your problems with a potential step-dad.

I won't let my daughters wear mini skirts or tank tops...You're showing off all the wrong assets to boys/men. You can get a boy with a lot better character by showing a smile and smiling eyes than with cleaveage and thighs.

It sounds like he cares about you. Him treating
you like a baby and saying your so cute; might also be ways of keeping himself unattracted to you...this is honest. Also if he doesn't have daughters of his own, he's probably feeling quite akward and really doesn't know how to give age appropriate treatment.

Why is the fact that he's giving you gifts o offensive??? Don't they sell ANYTHING you like at Toys R Us? Stuffed animals childish???
I bought my wife a stuffed bear years ago, she stil puts it on our bed from time to time...we're in our late 30's and have 3 children of our own.

It's not that he didn't think you could walk on your own.....he's trying to PROTECT you...that's what us dad types do....not just for kids; but wives too.

Try talking (not complaining) to him about some
the issues (feeding you/baby names), with the stated idea, that you realize that he's just trying to be a good dad.

It's sounds like he's really a decent guy; although, personally, I think it's innapropriate that your mother allows him this much influence before marriage.

Like it or not if they get married you have to obey their rules. Find a way to work WITH the situation rather than against it.... for your own sake, if not theirs.

Ok... If it wasn't for all of those child predators out there, I would be thinking this guy is a bit creepy, BUT... Perhaps he is simply trying too hard - that will change with time after the marriage. I just hope that after the marriage he does not pull a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde on you. Talk to your mom privately about your concerns and in turn she will talk to him about cooling his heels a bit (hopefully) and treating you less like a child and more like a young lady.

at least he is involved! he likes you and that's good! Not everybody is lucky to have a stepdad like that...
i'm sorry but it is kinda funny, especially the toys 'r us part...if you don't want it, i have a 4yo daughter here that would love it! hehe
The fact that he's not letting you wear mini skirts and things like that is good, probably because he knows how boys are, and i think the fact that he won't let you walk means that he cares and he doesn't want anything to happen to you!

He shouldn't treat you like a baby though...maybe he is just teasing you, who knows! it looks like they are joking around.... i hope so, cause if not, it is really weird! lol

That guy has got no business putting his hands on you or doing those other things. I think he is too familiar. Please talk to your Mom before it goes any further, and tell her you don't like it.
