Depends on your type of anger but if you want to hit things then by all means do! Hit a punching bag or a pillow. Find something poofy and beat the snot out of it until your so tiered you can't do it any more.

If you feel you need to yell then do it. Find a secluded place and scream your head off. Putting your face under water and screaming works well for cooling you off and dampens the noise if you are in close quarters.

For more long term solutions I would recommend maintaining a steady work out routine. We're animals and we need to accomplish things. The way we are now, with more confined living conditions, stressful jobs, bigger bills, and watching TV all day it is easy for us to get in a rut. Working out will help you more on a subconscious level by giving you an outlet for that energy you have, and physical feel better.

You may want to look into anger management programs. You can probably find some locally that meat at a time that is good for you. They can be very helpful in teaching ways to deal with anger.

Just remember it is OK to be angry, just try to use that energy to your advantage, rather then to your disadvantage.

How To Vent Anger

2016-10-22 08:47:17 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

The best way to vent anger is to go to the gym and work out. Anger is sudden energy that can be very destructive (like fire) so when you do feel it, run over to the Gym and harness that energy into something productive. Also working out produces endorphins that are a brain chemical helpful for people with anger problems.

Also, don't listen to people who advocate for a punching bag. There have been numerous studies about people who use a punching bag to alleviate their anger. Such studies have found that people only get more aggrevated, most especially if they're not properly technical about hitting the bag because most of them injure themselves with minor sprains.

1) try and purchase a punching bag
2) purchase an instrument, like a guitar, and play out your frustration.... if that doesn't work slam it into the ground a couple times
3) exercise run a few blocks, or miles, or whatever until the pain is gone

the important thing is that you release it... the anger will come out eventually and if you don't have control over when that anger does rear its head, you will get into more trouble later on

I'm so implosive...I just wait until a million and one things pile up on me then I explode! The first person to really do something stupid gets it for all of the really stupid others. I'd suggest sports or anything that is really physical, like dancing, running, etc. Being physically active releases endorphins in the brain...these make you feel really great! good luck!

If you are good, artistic with your words and actions you can express anger and sound intelligent at the same time, plus ruffle a few feathers.People might think twice before making you angry.
Plus I would think 'is it worth my time and energy to get angry in the first place?!'Or is it just stupid stuff ?That helped me alot.It takes lots of practice.
Good luck to you.

It all comes down to discipline and self control. Find the things that trigger your anger. I tend to use a more calming approach, rather than the famous, "punching bag" I search inside my mind and self talk the issues.
Either that or talk to my guns as I clean them in the basement. (kidding).

What I usually do when I am angry or feel like strangling someone is the following:
- going to the gym and hit a punching bag for as long as i can, until I feel beat myself.
- running, and listening angry music (rap, songs that spit out bitterness, etc)
- singing in the car at the top of my lungs.
- watch Man on Fire

good luck!

Hit a wall. This way you only hurt yourself.
You really need to lighten up, anger elevates your blood pressure. which is not good for the heart.
