When I was married I did. I used to say if I promise to miss you will you go away.

As the reverse is true here. No matter how much you love your spouse/significant other, face it. We're all distinct, separate human beings..and at times, we need some alone time. It could be just to read a book, watch a movie, soak in a tub of bubble bath..we NEED time alone.

Frankly, I am very happy for my wife when she and her buddies get together for a day of..whatever they are doing. It's good for her, and it's good for me.

Yes, the fact that you trust each other to be alone is good and the fact that you give each other that is healthy. Some time alone is good but it can be a problem if it is soooo often that people start to think they are single again.

When I first met my husband I wanted to be around him all the time, but now that we are married I look forward to his mandates!! When your with some one every day of your life it's nice to have a break, it just means that you love enough to have some time apart.

Yes. My wife is meeting her sister half way and they are going shopping and a movie together and returning tomorrow. This gives me time to myself to do the things I want.
I do enjoy her company, but I do need time for myself as well.
