Only books that portray or allow such activities -- books that punish witchcraft would not be considered wrong -- only those that showed magic use as being acceptable.

For the same reason, books and movies that showed violence or murder or adultery as being acceptable should be equally banned -- while those which showed such people being punished should be praised.

Of course -- that's working logically -- the hatred against other mystic religions and beliefs has little to do with logic, and much more to do with control, fear and bigotry.

We live in a world where people can't distinguish fact from fiction, and they will pick and choose what they consider to be wrong. I am sure that my brother-in-law reads murder mysteries but has banned his kids from reading Harry Potter. Odd that he also won't let them see the movies but Disney's "Fantasia" and "Bed knobs and Broomsticks" are ok. Go figure.

Excuse me for asking a question but I don't understand what the Harry Potter books have to do with politics in the US? Which of the candidates, either democrat or republican, have turned this fantasy into an issue? Or is this just a weekend school child issue?

Not exactly. They allow themselves to pick and choose what they think is wrong depending on what day of the week it is.
