It sounds as if you have a problem with the connection on the belkin unit.

If it's a USB dongle then make sure that it's firmly seated directly into a USB port. They're not reliable when on an extension lead.
If it's a slot in card then you may have to make several attempts at getting it seated properly. The edge connectors must be clean (don't wipe with fingers) and the pins unbent. They are always made to quite low quality like most SCART leads (keeps the price down) so there is a relatively high failure rate.

Also, because it's a very low power radio device it will be suscepible to aerial orientation (remember when you used to have to wiggle the aerial of old radios to get best reception?). It may also be suffering from something in between the Hub and itself (even big people wandering about).

Try getting a long ethernet (Cat 5) cable from somewhere like PC Word, Maplin or mail order from Novatech.co.uk and use it as an emergency standby connector to preserve your kid's sanity when the wireless goes pear-shaped.
Only a few quid, but worth it to keep being on-line. There are two ethernet ports on the Hub so you should be ok for sockets.

If you run out of Hub ethernet ports (they're mean with only two) then you can get a 5-way ethernet switch (similar concept to a USB hub) for about £12 from Novatech.
This will expand your ethernet capability so that all your computers can use a common printer or mass storage device (for file back up) such as the Netgear Storage Central. No need to worry about WEP either.

first make sure the card is installed properly. look in the device manager to see if it says installed properly Next on the bottom right of your screen is your windows tray You should see a wireless network symbol Right click > scan for available networks > click connect If the encryption is off you will connect If the encryption is on you will be asked to type in the security code ( twice) If you cannot see the signal you may have to set up the router again and make sure the wireless beacon is turned on If you find that you can see the wireless signal but cannot connect change the channel from the default channel 6 to any other channel 1 and 11 are the first to try ( neighbours routers causing interference) A program called network magic is very helpful

Hi I think I have the same one and it did the same. If its on a long cable and a dongle sitting in a craddle then what I did was put the dongle strait into the usb plug. And not the craddle not sure if it would work for you or if its the same one. But thought I would let you know anyway bye.
