If you read the mirror forum, journalists anonymously have been saying that they have been told in no uncertain terms by their editors to 'tow the line' where the McCanns are concerned or they will never work in journalism again.
We read regarding the McCanns what the media barons such as Murdoch want us to read regarding the McCanns. That's why getting a perspective on the Internet from other countries is so important.

The liberal media hasn't learned about their responsibility to inform us of the truth yet. And no, it's not ever all right to leave children alone. Check out this notice in our town that was posted on the local radio station: SEX OFFENDERS PUT ON NOTICE: NO HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES
The letters advise sex offenders that:
· Neither they, nor anyone in their home can answer the door to trick or
treaters on Halloween;
· They cannot pass out candy;
· Their homes cannot be decorated for Halloween, either inside or
outside;
· They cannot host Halloween parties at their homes;
· They cannot go to haunted houses, corn mazes, hay rides or any other
seasonal activity;
· They cannot be at any function where children are gathered, including
private residences;
· They cannot give any Halloween treats to children;
· They cannot wear costumes and
· They cannot take any child trick or treating.
Curfews are another tool probation and parole officers can use in
supervising sex offenders. During the rest of the Halloween season,
officers will also be making extended visits, both announced and
unannounced, to verify compliance.
I live in a small town, less than 10,000 and there are 54 registered sex offenders. How many not registered is anyone's guess...and just one reason for never leaving a child alone.

Well, the press haven't refrained from trying to influence the public for years and the McCanns wouldn't have had nearly as much support from the press if they were a working class couple living on a council estate.

All part of the McCann propaganda whitewash campaign, trying to prepare people for the results of the evidence which will no doubt be "inconclusive".

The press are the pits anyway and not worthy of anyones time they are more perverse than politicians,as for the Mc.cans ( Yes MAC CAN GET AWAY WITH IT! ) I think its very suspicious after all i have never seen any of them express any real show of emotion,they appear very cold and calculating and im sure that if it was my child i would search heaven and earth until i found them and not left Portugal like they did but stayed until some conclusion was reached.

Who said the press aren't meant to take sides or try to influence us? TELEVISION is meant to be impartial, but as for the papers, if they want to tear into the McCanns, there isn't much anyone can do to stop them.
